In 2017, house raids took place in Florence and several anarchist comrades were arrested as part of an operation called “Panico”[1]. Up to 35 comrades were charged in this operation[2]. Some comrades were accused of carrying out an explosive attack on a fascist bookshop in 2017 and an arson attack on a police station in 2016. Other comrades were accused of various other actions.
After a trial in 2019, an appeal in 2021[3] and a ruling by the Court of Cassation in 2023[4], two comrades were sentenced to 8 years in prison, while others received sentences ranging from a few months to three and a half years.
